Is this therapy or coaching?

Neither. Beginwell designs conditions — rooms, tools and structures that make beginning cheaper. We don’t diagnose, treat, or work on your inner world; we change what’s around the task. If what’s heavy in your life is bigger than a task, we’ll gladly help you find the right kind of support.

Do I need a diagnosis to belong here?

No label is required — or asked about. Many people who recognise these patterns have a diagnosis of some kind; many don’t. The patterns describe situations, not conditions, and the door is the same width for everyone.

Is the quiz a test? Will it tell me what’s wrong with me?

It can’t — there are no verdicts in it. It maps where starting tends to cost you the most in your ordinary weeks. Nothing is scored against anyone else, and your answers never leave your device.

What actually happens at a session?

You arrive with one real thing — a report, a chapter, an application. We begin together with a deliberately small first step, then it’s quiet work in good company, a pause, and a short close-out you keep. No introductions around a circle. No one reads your work. Leaving early is fine.

What if I come and still can’t start?

Then you’ll be in the most understanding room in the city. The first step is designed to be almost too small to refuse — but if it doesn’t happen, that’s information, not failure. Sitting quietly in the company of people beginning still counts, and it changes the next attempt.

Do I have to talk, or explain what I’m working on?

No. You’ll never be asked to explain your task, your reasons, or your history. “No pressure to explain yourself” is a rule here, not a mood.

Isn’t this just a study group, or body doubling?

A cousin, with a different engine. Working near other people helps, and we use that — but a session also has a shape: how it opens, how the first step is chosen, how time runs, how it closes. Company is one ingredient. The design of the room is the rest.

Why is starting so hard for me when I’m clearly capable?

Because starting is genuinely the most expensive part of the work — it demands prediction, decisions, holding and risk all at once, before any feedback exists. We’ve written the full explanation in plain language: The Cost of Starting.

When can I buy the kit?

It’s hand-made in small batches, and each batch goes to the list first — including first-batch pricing. Ask to be told when it’s ready via the kit panel.

Can my workplace or university book something?

Yes — quietly, for now. If your team or cohort has a season everyone dreads, tell us about it through the contact form.

What happens to my details?

The short version: quiz answers never leave your device; an email address is used to send you the thing you asked for, and nothing else; we don’t sell data, run advertising cookies, or track you around the internet. The long version lives on the privacy page.
